I heard about Betzie Bendis before I met her. We had just bought a home in Southern Columbia County and were looking to change the plantings that the previous owner had planted. It was mostly box woods and other shrubs that were nice but not my taste. I wanted color and lightness. A friend recommended Betzie and said that she was an artist, both a painter and a landscaper. So I went to Betzie's home and walked around her gardens. She has created an oasis around her home and I was so wowed by how she put it all together with color and shapes that I asked if she would create something like it for me, on a much smaller scale. I told Betzie what I liked and my only criteria was I wanted hydrangeas. Betzie brought in daisies, and three different grasses as well as hydrangeas.
Now seven years later, she came back to complete another kidney shaped garden for me with another request, a dogwood tree. It was such a wonderful experience working with an artist on Betzie's level, with such an exquisite eye for detail and design. I can't wait for the next adventure.

Betzie is a true artist who works a landscape like a canvas. Aside from her artistic eye, she is very knowledgable about what plants will do best in your particular environment and also what YOU want from your garden. I’ve been a customer for almost 20 years and there doesn’t seem to be any job that she and and her team can’t do.
